Suggestion Mode / Track changes for Docs as in Google Docs
Basil Weibel
One thing that is extremely powerful in google docs is the "Suggest Changes" mode similar to the track changes mode in Office.
I think it would be very valuable to add such a mode to clickup docs to further push the collaborative nature of CU docs.

majorly needed how can we help you get there?

Brent please also check out the related requests. There are quite some votes for this feature.

Hi Brent,
Notion has implemented it nicely. https://www.notion.so/help/suggested-edits.
We currently use Confluence in our Org. Even with Confluence I am regularly going back to Word just for this functionality. I think building this would be a big argument for CU.

Brent Being able to propose and accept or reject changes to documents is a key way that people collaborate on everything from project plans to documentation to content. I'm struggling to understand how there's even a question as to the utility or need for this feature. See every word processor and wiki tool for examples. As noted above Notion has a great implementation. As does https://almanac.io/. Are there specific questions you're seeking to answer or doubts that are gating to moving this feature into the roadmap?
Brent
Hi Josh Sommer, thanks for your feedback! We understand how important it is to be able to suggest changes in Docs and how effective this can be for collaboration. We're continuing to gather input because it helps us understand different use cases and potential challenges, which in turn refines our approach. Your insights are incredibly valuable in shaping our future plans. Thanks again for sharing!

Brent any updates on this? continually having to switch back to google docs to collaborate on docs is a major drag and becoming more so as our team grows.
Brent
Hi Josh Sommer, thanks for following up. We understand how impactful a suggestion mode would be for collaborative workflows and how it would make working in ClickUp Docs much more seamless—especially for growing teams like yours.
At the moment, we're actively exploring the best way to implement this functionality while meeting the diverse needs of our users. Your feedback is incredibly helpful as we continue refining our approach, so please don’t hesitate to share more insights or specific use cases.
Thank you again for your advocacy—it really helps guide us in building a platform that supports your team’s success!

The lack of this feature is why we haven't yet moved from google docs to clickup docs. When editing scripts, we need to ensure changes are approved, not just added by someone else

We want move our knowledge base to clickup, so it would be great to track changes in documents.

This would be very useful, for collaboration in particular. Collaborating on Docs currently, but have no sense for how something has changed, forcing us to incorporate Word or another platform into our workflow before entering into the Doc.
History shows changes, but not really with track changes/collaboration in mind.

Hey all! This is something we are exploring. I won't say we're 100% committed to working on it until we have a better sense of how we want to approach it without adding additional complexity.

Justin Hunter: Thanks for the update and transparency Justin!

Justin Hunter do we have any idea 10 months on from this update?

Justin Hunter We'd really love to move more of our document creation/editing into CU but can't without tracked changes. Any updates on this?
