Hi, I am setting a lot of dates lately and I am really fighting the datepicker when trying to be efficient.
I am attaching a video.
Basically I want to adjust the dates from "whiole day" to specific time in that day.
I click the "Dates" value.
I want to add time, so I try to click "Add time".
I want to simply enter the value by keyboard at this point, but trying to typo 7 3 0 for 7:30 does not yield any input. (That is the long pause after I click "Add time".
Therefore I click it again and the carret shows up... great.
But starting to type the time in... it rewrites the whole date to "Today 7:30".
All I wanted was just to keep everything as is and add the time.
Also one other thing regarding datepicker that I stumble upon most often (not in the video).
Let's say it is Monday.
I want to set a start date to Tuesday, 7:30 and Due date to Tuesday 15:30.
So I enter the whole start date by entering date and time.
Then I move to the Due date and try to enter just "15:30"... but that defaults to "Today", resulting in Start date on Tuesday and Due date on Monday.
I am well aware that making assumptions is not a good way to design systems, but I am quite sure that in such case, when user enters Start date and time, it is pretty safe to assume that if the user enters Due date as time only, he want the Due date to be on the same day as the Start date.
Thank you very much.
Lukáš
