Start and end times for time tracked tasks on time tracking widgets
Michael Van Doorn
Currently, the only way to see when a time track began and ended is by viewing the "edit session" modal of a time track within a task.
It would be great if we could see start and end times in our tasks or on widgets!

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place for this request, but I would love to have a view that shows a timeline of tasks worked on in terms of their tracked time. I would envision this sort of like a Gantt Chart except that there'd be no overlap between tasks (unless you were somehow doing two things at once). In this view, time would be on the X-axis and tasks worked on would be on the Y-axis. Ideally, there would be three ways to show tasks and time tracked (see my illustration):
In the first, you'd see all time tracking events distinctly such that if you worked on the same task at different times in the day, those blocks of time would show up distinctly (and the task would be repeated on the Y-axis).
In the second, you could collapse tracked time by task so that you'd see all time tracking events distinctly, but you'd only see one of each task on the Y-axis.
In the third, you could collapse all tasks so that you'd only see the timeline of time-tracking events.
Note, currently the Timesheets page provides a daily total of time tracked for each task (basically the sum of each time block per task per day in my figure), but it doesn't provide any of my desired visualizations.

We need to quickly evaluate when employees are doing work outside of their scheduled times for budgeting purposes and the only way to do this is one at a time go in and check the time durations. Just seeing the durations to understand what time they started and stopped would be amazing.

From the moment you enter times, this functionality is ESSENTIAL!

I want this! I think this should've been show from the launch time.
I mean I have time tracker apps that tells the start and end times. Why leave it out and hide with an extra click in order to just the details.

This would be a massive improvement. Currently doubling up the time tracking work in my Calendar to ensure that I haven't inadvertently tracked the same period of time against two different tasks for billing purposes. Even just the ability to quickly see the start and end times of all tracked time would make a massive difference, even without a sort of calendar like widget to make it easier to see at a glance

Yup. This is the most basic output of any timetracking function. A list of times tracked. We've got so much 'fancy' going on, and the Bog Standard Basic requirements have not been addressed. The crazy part is that ALL the data is there. It's all there, just not exposed by the UI!

A change in German law will soon make it binding to prove the actual time and duration of work. Therefore it is absolutely essential to implement this feature asap. You will lose all of your German clients without this feature in the near future! The tracking itself is already enabled with the "range" time tracking option, so the first step it done - please make it visible and accesible now!
