Slash Commands for Custom Fields

I add my tasks with a system wide keystroke. Because some of my tasks have a required custom field, I still have to pull my hands off my keyboard to click the custom field. Being able to use slash command to custom field would allow the system wide shortcut to be much more useful.

Yes I would also like this to work in this way. It will streamline the process quite a lot and all we have to do is type to capture tasks.

I've spent about 10 minutes to find that this isn't already a feature, which is surprising. The slash command is only slightly useful if have to use your mouse anyway.

We would find this invaluable. Without them, we are forced to include some of our would-be custom fields in the body of our Template Descriptions.

Bumping this thread! This feature is so important... Why include commands for only a small subsection of fields?

In our workspace, we use required custom fields to enforce good data validation, but there is a very real cost in time without this slash command.
To add the custom fields we need to mouse over the task, select custom field and start entering the correct information.
This on average costs me 40 s. Often we review and enter these tasks in a meeting with 4-7 people. Entering the same information in a well-validated spreadsheet takes me 25 s. I know we're not talking about a lot of time here but when you consider about 11 tasks/day taking 15 s extra, that is 2.75 minutes extra over the day, and over the year nearly 12 hours.
Using a slash command to enter tags as a proxy for a similar amount of data entry takes between 20-25s which could actually save time compared to a spreadsheet.
ClickUp's motto is to save a day/week and I think this feature is integral to meet their value proposition since anything costing time will see them losing users for faster systems. please implement a workaround or fix as soon as possible

Shawn Glover: I think it's not so much for the time "spent" but rather due to the fact that I have to go and aim to a tiny box that it's really annoying.

Please, please find a way to add this capability. Without the ability to select an item from a selection list in a custom field, much of the value of slash commands goes away, because we are forced back into mouse mode for every new item anyway. Thanks for reading, and I hope this becomes possible!

Given that my workspace forces certain custom fields because ClickUp doesn't provide them by default, I'm forced to do around 14 extra clicks to create a task, instead of being able to use a custom command for it.

Not having slash commands for custom fields forces me to some clicks for capturing certain fields in a task, where all the others were captured by keyboard. Not optimal.

Yes please! Kind defeats the purpose if I create and then go straight to my mouse. At least for simple fields like number, dropdown, etc.
