First off, huge fan of ClickUp! Such an amazing tool.
Our team is globally distributed. Time zone awareness is challenging, yet a high priority. I deal with this every day. 😢
Right now, when messaging a teammate in ClickUp Chat, there’s no quick way to know what time it is for them. It does seem to display once in a while, but it is still consitent friction:
• “Is it too early/late to message them?”
• “Should I expect a response now?”
• “Are they even online in their workday?”
The Request:
When opening a chat (1:1 or group), automatically, and continuously display each teammate’s current local time.
Example:
Bob — 9:42 PM (Local Time - CST)
Why This Matters:
• 🌍 Supports remote + global teams
• 🧠 Reduces mental load when communicating
• ⏱ Improves response expectations and async workflows
• 🤝 Creates more respectful communication habits
Ideal Implementation:
• Visible in chat header or near the user’s name
• Works across mobile, web, and desktop
• Updates dynamically
• Optional toggle for privacy/preferences
Thanks for listening!
