There needs to be a way to add people's absences, not just the individual. I need to log sick days, out-of-office days and holidays. People can't be relied on to remember to capture all this themselves, especially when it's after the fact. I'm quite surprised this wasn't factored into this feature release, but it would be great if it were.

This makes it a very personal feature, but not very practical in a corporate setting where employees must submit a vacation request, which must then be approved by their managers before it is actually granted as vacation or time off. It’s certainly useful for time off to be reflected in schedules, but in my opinion, this makes it a fairly basic feature. Will it be possible to set time off via API? If so, at least the process could be automated from other HR systems.
I’ll conclude by saying that, precisely because this is a new feature that doesn’t add all that much, it would have been more appropriate to make it available to all ClickUp plans. Unfortunately, however, your pricing policy still seems designed to discourage users from purchasing plan upgrades or add-ons of any kind.

Until now, we covered this feature with tasks in a list, like most people. But this list didn't just have absences, it also had things like "no business trips" on days where people could ask to not be sent out for personal reasons (e.g. dentist appointment). But that means, there's no reduction in working hours. Could this use case be integrated?

Nicolas Souza: You can specify other which is free text, that will allow you to write "Dentist appointment" or anything you like.

Vasil Enchev My point was about not counting time off. For the type "no business trips", the person would work normal hours, but they have to tend to something personal outside of working hours. So it's a great way to show the requirement in all lists, and if you plan to send them somewhere to a client, you'll get a notice "Carefull: This person has these days set as so and so.". Everything just as with PTO, except it's not time off and that time shouldn't be deducted.

Hey everyone! This is one of our most-requested features ever (thank you for 6,000+ votes and years of patience 🙏), and we're thrilled to say Personal Time Off is now rolling out.
What you can do now:
- Add your own time off (vacation, sick, or custom) from your profile's
- Schedule/Calendar tab or the Team Hub Time Off card - single days or ranges.
- See teammates' availability across ClickUp: Profile, Team Hub, date picker, assignee picker, Workload, Calendar, and Timesheets.
- Avoid scheduling clashes - assigning a task on someone's time off triggers a clear warning (dots, tooltip, banner) before you commit.
- Auto-adjusted capacity - time-off days show 0h capacity in Workload and darkened columns in Timesheets, so planning stays accurate.
- Managers & admins can manage time off for their team.

Rolling out now to Business Plus and above

@Vasil Enchev, I'm not sure if my version is up to date already, but does this feature that's currently being rolled out include part-day leave? My team can submit leave requests counted in minutes, not just full days.

Vasil EnchevLove that we can finally note timeoff! However, it doesn't seem to have any indicator in Workload. I added my time off for the year but when I go to Workload it still shows me as having capacity those days. Is this a bug I should report?

Would it be possible to integrate it with Planner and sync it with Google Calendar? If ClickUp users enter their time off as described, it would be very helpful to have it automatically reflected in Planner and Google Calendar.

Dashboard cards would be a great feature so that managers can track how many days off their team members have taken in a given period of time. Or, for future planning, how much capacity loss is expected in a future time range.

Bugra Oktay Will this feature also address the issue where employees are expected to log 40 hours per week, but when they take 2 days of leave they are short 16 hours unless time is manually logged against a ‘Holiday’ task? Will there be an API to use this information further?
