Send Emails to ClickUp from external email addresses

It would be very handy to provide clients with an email address, and they send emails directly into our ClickUp List.

Ivan Villa: Can you link to the documentation here? Google search takes me here when looking for this capability and I'm having a hard time finding the documentation for this feature.

Came across this (defect or feature) after moving away from Trello. We are still reviewing whether to still make the switch.
We act on behalf of many customers as the site admins for their websites. That said each domain we admin can have many forms with many email alias's etc. And with our current flow in Trello we are able to send from any email as a task (with all email details mapped to task) to specific boards. In Clickup we realized you can only accept emails from the account you signed up with. This is so unfortunate and we have a deadline to cancel the Trello subscription renewal coming up on October 28th. A status update on this would be appreciated to avoid another year with Trello. Thanks in advance.

slillig: It's on the way! We should be done with this in October, very soon!

Zeb: Awesome! Really appreciate the quick response.

Zeb: Hello Zeb. Our deadline to renew Trello is this week. Any chance you can provide an update on this feature?
Zeb
slillig: Good timing! This WILL ship on Friday
Viktor Revesz
Zeb: Hi Zeb! Is this shipped by now? If yes, how can we set external domains up.
Jan Dvořák
Viktor Revesz: You don't have to. Just go to the list you want to send the task to and copy the e-mail address (.../E-mail instructions). You MUST do this, as the address is new - the old one is still subject to the account e-mail check! But to the new address, you can send a task from any external e-mail.
Zeb
Viktor Revesz: Yes, it's shipped! Just follow Jan Dvořák 's steps above! Thanks!!

Guys - do you have a timeline when this feature is going to be released?

A simple, global flag in each workspace "Anyone can send E-Mails to any List in this workspace" (yes/no) would be enough.
This would be really useful and powerful because there is not much administrative work and it is safe because:
1) It's extremely unlikely that anyone can guess the cryptic add.task E-Mail address.
2) Therefore, only those senders who have got the E-Mail address from the list owner can send emails to a ClickUp list anyway.
Since years, we use the same feature on Todoist - it accepts every sender - and, of course, we never got any unwanted E-Mail.

An easier use case might be allowing users to add acceptable email addresses by space, folder or list. This would limit the likelihood of having lots of tasks created by malware or malcontents, yet still allow a select group of clients/external users to add tasks to our lists.
Jan Dvořák
Yes! This will finally allow me to get back to Personal setting for my team of one:-)

Create tasks by email - Customize Email

Please allow us to rename our emails so it's not a random set of characters. Other tools let you do that. It can be add.task.[space][List]@tasks.clickup.com or fully customizable would be even better.

I send tasks to Clickup through a Zapier rule from any email client and/or other external adress; see this for GoogleTask for example: https://zapier.com/apps/email/integrations/google-tasks/1932/create-new-google-tasks-from-emails

Does this request include the possibility to directly reply to these emails? That would almost be enough for our basic CRM needs.
