Waleed Elaghil Since I don't use statuses for CRM sales stages, but custom fields (because subtasks inherit status of parent task), I don't really have a benefit of this feature.
Instead I would suggest a "Time in Custom Field" feature as well, at least for those custom fields that can only have one value at a time, e.g. dropdown.

I desperately need this in the dashboards! I want to see on average how long a task is waited for approval, in progress, waiting for production, etc.

Now I just need to be able to create an automation that references this. e.g. Archive closed tasks older than 30 days, or assign a new task that's been open for over 4 hours.

Waleed Elaghil: Awesome! great feature. for consistency reasons, please also make time in status available in:
- board view (using this most for sales and hiring scenario),
- in dashboards for reporting and
- to trigger automations (if time in status = X days, then do >)

Waleed Elaghil: this is great but can I ask if it is planned for 'time in status' to become a view and dashboard filter option so we can trim list view to only show tasks with a high time in status value or dashboard widgets to calculate the number of tasks that might be slipping?

Waleed Elaghil: This is a great feature. However, when we add this column (time in status column) in the task list widget in dashboard, the values are incorrect. It is different to what we see in the list view or within the task. Can you please fix that? And every time we refresh the dashboard, time in status value goes back to "0"
