See estimates in hours instead of days

I'd rather be able to see total hours. For example, I'm a freelancer who doesn't work typical/consistent days, so it's more helpful for me to know that I'm booked 23 hours in a week than seeing that in terms of days.

Now you can choose to show hours for time estimates and time tracking. Just head to your ClickApps settings page to turn this on.

Zeb: Thanks Brother!
Carl Lefever
Zeb: Thanks Zeb, love the change. It doesn't look like that setting changes the way time is displayed on the Time Estimated tab in Reporting, can that be included? This is a key view where we'd want to see hours. Also, I see the setting and the effect of the application of the setting when accessing the app via browser, but not so on the desktop app.
Zeb
Carl Lefever: Good point, we will get that adjusted in reporting also! Regarding the desktop app, if you close it and reopen it _should_ update.

Zeb: This is not fixed in the Reporting section.
Zeb
Justin Mosebach: Please try again now!

Any idea on when this will be fixed? It's a big problem.

Yeah, I'm currently trying to see how we're tracking on tasks (actual vs expected), and this is completely confounding.
Brandon Powers
Similarly, this would also be useful for us in the reporting section as well as estimates.

As a closely related point, the way clickup presently handles longer time duration units is quite non-intuitive. Apparently 1 week = 7
[hours per day]. But, what I think is usually expected is 'one week' = 'one work week' = 5
[hours per day], i.e., typically 5*8 = 40 hours. I was quite confused when making a two week '80h' estimate being converted into '1w 3d'.If you want to keep weeks as a time unit for durations, it seems to me necessary to add a field 'days in week' alongside 'hours per day'. But, alternatively, I don't see that much use of converting durations into something longer than days (and, as in this request, allowing to just stay with hours.)

Rickard Armiento: This just so completely confused me. So CU seems to have assumed that there are 8 hours in a day (the typical work day), but there are 7 days in a week (NOT the typical work week). Confusing to say the least.

Zeb: Hi Zeb, any update on when this will be implemented?
Zeb
Carl Lefever: This is done now!
Sarah
I'd like that too! My work days are variable too.

Yes please!
