Hey Brendan W, sorry just saw this message. For context, we are utilizing Channels for project kick-offs, general discussions, and questions that are not directly tied to task activities, while task-specific conversations are handled within task activity threads. Currently, we rely on the Notifications page to keep track of conversations, and as part of our protocol, we ask teams to add relevant stakeholders as watchers.

At the moment, we need to monitor multiple tabs — one for Chats and another for Notifications — just to stay updated on activities. It would be extremely helpful to have the ability to filter all public activities by team (e.g., tasks created, comments, chats, and updates) so we can have a more holistic and centralized view of ongoing work. There are instances where people forget to add us as watchers, which creates communication gaps and missed updates.

I also noticed an improvement in the Chat section where comments sent by me or other users are now visible, whether through private messages or public channels. This is a very helpful!. One suggestion would be to have the “sent by me” items disabled by default, with the option to enable or filter them only when needed, to improve visibility of new or relevant updates from everyone.

Honey: Thanks for taking the time to respond! Do you think that your division of sometimes using Chat and sometimes using task comments actually furthers this problem? We're looking for ways to converge Chat and tasks, so we would love your thoughts on that!

Another thing to mention is that you as a user can elect to enable more notification settings for Inbox, so that you're notified in Inbox of things that happen in Chat (DMs, new channel messages, responses to threads, etc.)
