Search for exact match (way too many search results)
complete

The search function is almost useless to me as it is now. I usually have to search for product numbers/codes and it can return me a huge scrolling list of results when the specific number I searched isn't on any task at all. I have no way to search for an exact match, and nothing in the display to indicate an exact match (even bolded text would help) which means I have to try to look at a list of 5 digit numbers and try to pick out if the number I searched is actually in any of the results. It's great that the search can be so broad but I
really
need a way to tell it to be specific and only show relevant matchesLog In

Ivan Villa: Ivan - Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the Search Improvements in Release 2.19!!!! Now we can actually find what we're looking for. ClickUp has always been AWESOME, but now it is the VERY BEST app out there! Thanks again.

I couldn't agree more.
Exact
matches are critical. “Find This Text” in quotation marks like this surrounding the search criteria should result in far fewer matches than Find This Text without the quotes.Mendel C
I totally agree. I can't tell you how many duplicate tasks I have been creating since the new search was implemented. This has been the most frustrating change in clickup yet. They are usually great but this "update" really messed things up for me. I can't believe we are the only ones experiencing this problem. This to me is an emergency and I hope it can be dealt with urgency and not just as another suggestion. This is a feature that used to work amazing and now in the name of improvement it has become useless. What a shame.
To explain once more. When I have a unique order or product code, I used to be able to search it and know right away if it is being dealt with anywhere on clickup. If it showed no results found, then I would be confident that there were no tasks created for that specific order or product. But now with the new search, it always shows a huge list of results for whatever code I input in the search.

It has been really hard to find specific tasks and documents. It has left me without any confidence that I will find something I create in the system. Currently, I use Clickup to manage all my projects: family and business.
In addition to UX / UI issues, search funcionality has been one of the critical factors that makes me think of using another tool again.

The search that Chrome has is better, it finds and matches the entry as you're typing it...

Ditto on the comment. I'm pretty sure it used to work with quotes in 1.0?? (I don't have a way to check) but when a part number has a - in it, it's pretty hard to find the right one.
