The second option — the ability to round it up/down in reports and exports would be more important for us. Both would of course be the most optimal.

Saving timers as rounded values - rounding up to 15 minutes.
Vasil Enchev
For everyone interested in this feature, do you prefer saving timers as rounded values or having the option to round them in reports and exports?
Edwin Nooitgedagt
Vasil Enchev for us, it's the second option - having the option to round them in reports and exports.

Vasil Enchev Having the option to round them in reports and exports. Right now we have to do it manually in excel after exporting which then leads to minor discrepancies when viewing time reports within ClickUp and externally.

Vasil Enchev First option, save each time entry as rounded

Vasil Enchev First option. It would be good to see the exact time as well as rounded time. We need to know exact time for tasks but also be able to quickly tell our clients how much time a task has taken using the rounded time.
Julian Pustkuchen
Vasil Enchev First option is the more important one for us, but I think best would be to have both options. I think there are real-world cases for both with different outcome. For example we're tracking support time in units of started 15 minutes. So summing them first and then rounding them would have a wrong result. But both are valid cases.

Vasil Enchev Option to round them in reports feels more universal for everyone's needs! I don't have a preference. Our team needs time rounded per task, per week (not per individual time entry), which is more important to me than where it's rounded.

Alice Hilton I second this. This is precisely the issue. Both data are valuable.

Vasil Enchev, the first option is most important to us. Thank you!

Vasil Enchev Both

Vasil Enchev and others: what are your thoughts on having a toggle in the time tracking drop down that allows you to display the final rounded value instead of the final actual value? That would help employees track where they are at against their billable hour target for a day.

Vasil Enchev Both. And honestly... mimic what Clockify does for their time rounding and that would meet most needs. Seeing rounded time in reports and dashboards is important. Options to choose if each time entry is rounded, or if the total is rounded. Options to choose if it's round up or down or nearest.

Vasil Enchev First option, I prefer to be able to save it in the timer
André Lötzgen
Vasil Enchev First option. Save directly rounded. There is also the option to “just” round it up, not round it up commercially.

It would be really helpful to have time tracked rounded and added as billable time automatically.

For me I found a solution by combining ClickUp with make.com
I've written a tutorial on how to automatically round up to 15-minute-intervalls:
All my tests were positive. But as I implemented it just a few days ago. If you have improvements you are welcome to share it.
What I like about this solution is that no external interface is needed. It seamlessly integrates directly with ClickUp.

Please go ahead. It's crucial for our workflow that involves working with teams from other companies with tracking systems that round intervals. Thanks!
