I would like to suggest a workflow improvement for the ClickUp Desktop app, specifically when working within the Task View overlay.
Suggested Implementation: A toggle in 'Settings' or a "Next" button that updates the task to a Closed status and opens the next task in the queue.
Problem:
Currently, when I am working through a list of tasks and update a task status to "Complete," the task remains open or requires me to manually exit and select the next one. I would like to see an "Auto-Advance" feature—similar to Gmail’s "Auto-advance" after archiving/deleting—where ClickUp automatically opens the next task in the current List or Folder once the active one is marked as closed.
Why this is helpful:
Maintains Flow: It allows for "inbox zero" style processing of tasks without constant clicking back and forth between the List and Task views.
Efficiency: Reduces the number of clicks required to move through a daily "To-Do" queue.
Consistency: This behavior is a standard power-user feature in email clients and CRM platforms, and would make ClickUp feel much faster for high-volume task management.
