Reorder or swap custom field positions in Tasks
Kim Hoang
I have created many custom fields.
It would be great if we can rearrange the custom fields so it will display as we wanted to in the task
As you can see in bullet 1, 2, and 3, I have arranged the fields in order
- Approval
- Complete
- Status.
But right now, all those fields don't display as order as I wanted, you can see Bullet A, B, and C so you know what I mean

Reordering Custom Fields in Tasks

Currently, it is not possible to manually reorder custom fields within a task or card. This limitation makes it challenging to organize fields in a way that best suits our workflow. It would be highly beneficial to have the ability to drag and drop custom fields to rearrange them as needed.

It would be very helpful to be able to reorder the custom fields! We use that section as our "cover page" for our transactions. It is a great overview but the information is scatted and would love to be able to read from top to bottom necessary information within it's timeline/stage. I have pinned important items but I still have to search for key items.

I second this!!

yes this would be great as then the order would look like it makes sense .. at the moment the order looks random

Adding my vote here! Especially important for the CRM use cases

I had the same problem, so I pinned my custom fields, that solved the problem for us.

Martin Boonzaayer: Even when I pin them, I seem unable to control the order. I click "Add/edit fields" and put them in the order I want, and ClickUp doesn't care.

I agree this should be a feature added to the update list. In the mean time, I did find a workaround that might help you right now. Add numerical numbers to the beginning of each custom field. The system will automatically sort them in order based of the number. A little more work, but if the order is important, it will get you what you need.
