I would like to report an issue related to renaming attachments directly within ClickUp and ask for guidance on how this should work correctly.
When editing the name of an existing attachment in ClickUp, the rename action fails if any punctuation character is used in the edited name, for example a dot (.), slash (/), or question mark (?).
What I have observed:
  • Files uploaded from an external source (local disk) can contain the same punctuation characters in their filenames without any issues.
  • The problem occurs only when editing the name of an existing attachment inside ClickUp.
  • If the edited part of the filename contains even a single punctuation character, the name is not saved and an error is shown.
As a result, it is not possible to correct or standardize attachment names that include punctuation, even though ClickUp allows such names at the upload stage.
