Recurring tasks should show all iterations
Greg Gifford
in other task management solutions, when you create a recurring task, it spawns all the iterations of that task (up to a certain point - which if you're worried about, you could make a setting) -
so for example, if I have a daily task that takes 30 minutes, I should be able to create that task and have it show up in my task list - and ESPECIALLY show up in my task export - for at least the next 3 months, every day.
It's currently impossible for us to do employee/time resourcing, since recurring tasks only show one instance. That daily 30 minute task should account for 10 hours of time for the month, but currently only counts for 30 minutes. and we can't look at daily workload, since some days look completely empty, but actually have 3-4 hours of recurring tasks.
showing on the calendar view is not a sufficient solution to this problem. PLEASE let us see all iterations of a recurring task. Once it's created, all iterations are created, and then can be edited either in bulk or individually. This is an absolute necessity!

If this isn't being planned, has anyone found a workaround without having to manually duplicate tasks?

The recurring task feature as it currently stands is not fit for purpose. If I add an assignee to today's task...it adds that same assignee to all future planned tasks. It makes assigning out work extremely difficult. We are having to work around it by adding a note to the task.
You ought to be able to at least update the current day's task without it cascading those changes over to the next days task....unless of course you have selected to copy over that area when choosing what to include in the new task.
Having the future tasks show in the calendar does help, but you should have the option of seeing them for the next 4 weeks in other areas of the system too, but most important for me is to be able to update today's task without worrying about it updating tomorrow's and the next day etc

Kelly Roskell-Thomas: Just an idea: Do you have recurrance set When completed or On schedule? Have you Create new task enebled and possibly disabled all unnecessary parameters to carry on (clicking Options next to the Create new task toggle), like Assignees? It seems like most of the issues you mention should be avoided if set up?

Jan Dvořák: thank you for the reply. I have the recurrence set up on Schedule in case the assignee does not mark as complete. I have also de-selected assignee's. But still when I assign someone to today's task it assigns them to all future tasks.

I agree with what Greg Gifford said employees are not comfortable scheduling their time. Also, employees are not able to report on the work done during the day within one task that is repeated at different times each day for the duration of the task.

Does anyone at ClickUp aggregate all the identical requests? There seem to be a bunch of requests for this that overlap 90%. Thx.

100% It needs to be done

This seems like such a simple feature that is missing. You even can do this in the calendar on iphone where you create a weekly task and it creates all future iterations then you can edit each iteration INDEPENDENTLY (which is the most important thing for me as each weekly task will be in the calendar to remind me to do it but will be slightly different each week i.e. same people meeting but discussing slightly different things and want the task title to reflect this ahead of time). Please add this!

that would be nice. it would also help us to know the task was set up correctly, if you could see all the next recurrsions and verify that it's how you want

+1 this is a must have. This is essential to efficiency especially since I manage my weeks through my calendar
