Recurrence Settings for Weekdays

I'm trying to set up recurring tasks for either the first weekday or last weekday of the month.
I've tried using the "By Week" settings but I end up with 5 occurrences of the same task. For example if I need the last weekday of the month and it falls on a Thursday, the task will start to recur on the Friday before.
Please help!

Any updates on when this feature is coming out? I notice it has been almost 4 years. Has it been shelved?

It would be super helpful to have this functionality for several of our tasks!

I think this post is asking for similar things, but is there a way to set up a recurring monthly task, that takes into account business days? I'm trying to create a workflow for month-end close for accounting. So we have several tasks that are not due on a certain date each month, or a certain day of the week, but are due in "x" number of business days. For example, each month, task 1 is due on the 3rd business day. Not sure how to set up a recurring option for this?

Really need this functionality.
I moved from TickTick and miss this feature - custom recurring monthly on a given day and also on the 1st or last workday.

Maybe a little out of scope, but this is terribly annoying.
I have meetings set for the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and I can't choose the "fourth" Tuesday in my recurrences, only "Last Tuesday" which makes the recurrence wrong/off.

Trevor Crossland: Hey Trevor, I actually just figured this out myself -- let me know if i'm totally off.

Irene Sarumi: it definitely works for a single week but not for multiple times in the month.
So, what I have to do is two tasks one for first recurrence of month and another for the second.
To help consolidate, the drop down should allow for more options vs just first, second, third or fourth (sometimes fifth depending on the month).
Does that make sense?

Trevor Crossland: Oh, I totally get what you mean - it's similar on Google Calendar. Annoying!
Trevor Crossland
Irene Sarumi: RIGHT! Hopefully can get addressed soon :)

This would be awesome at the week level for sure ---- like second tuesday of every month or something like that? Maybe it is that way and I'm just overlooking it.
For example, we have accounting workflows set up as Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4, and Week 5. It's not always the the third wednesday of each month or week because of that 5th week. Even our weekly clients are not touched every week because of that 5th week.
Also, we do company wide shutdowns the last two weeks of the year, is there a way to block out due dates if something like that exists?
During tax season we restrict certain activities so that we are focused 100% on tax items. I don't know how that might look, but I wanted to share those situations in case consideration might help create some solutions here for due dates! Thank you!
