Quickly create basic tasks like an inbox
Adam Davidson
For quickly jotting down a task on the run, don't require choosing space:list. Just have an inbox as holding place. Later, can add assignees lists etc.

Ability to quickly add idea to process later (brain dump)

Like in Apple Reminders, I want to be able, using a hotkey to note down a thought that will then be saved in a list, that I can then process later.
Reminders works a bit like this with the r hotkey, but the problem iss it then appears under my To Do list in the inbox for today, which I don't want.

Add task to Inbox feature

Currently clickup only support notification and reminder from Docs, Chats, and Lists. Usually, inbox from other project management system use to add task from inbox and categorize it to other workspace or lists.

Different inbox

I miss a kind of "inbox" where I can create tasks (that are not reminders) that are not associated with any list.
Some place that is not associated with any space and where you can create more personal tasks.

capture new items into inbox

I hope I'm not repeating other requests that I couldn't find.
Also, I hope that I didn't miss a way to do these things with the current version.
I'm using the chrome plugin and the android app and my request is focused on them mainly. That is, that:
- it would be possible to create inbox items directly through the plugin,
- via the android share options and
- some android sticky notification/extension...
When the inbox came out I thought that the lack of options to capture new items into the inbox was because it was new, but I'm starting to think that ClickUp doesn't think of the inbox as the entry point into my system.
For example, when capturing a website, forwarding an email or sharing through the android share button, you can only create new tasks in lists and not in the inbox.
I understand that the inbox object is different than a task, but this is a good thing, is it raw, with minimal information to be processed into something else (reference material, tickler, project, or.. a task in a list).

GLOBAL CAPTURE - Capture Items Quickly and Easily
Nathan Holiday
The tasks and reminders are not good for capturing easily. Reminders set the due date automatically to today, so I get alerts on my watch immediately anytime I try to add a reminder. Tasks are cumbersome to add on the fly forcing you to select assignee and list etc.
THIS IS WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN:
A simple global shortcut to capture only. That item would go to a dedicated CAPTURE INBOX location and if that inbox is has any items in it, a today due date item would pop up that says "Process Captures" or something. The fact that it's not easy and seamless to capture items very easily, that don't have due dates, and would allow me to process at a later time makes the workflow in clickup lacking. Omnifocus does this the best out of everything I've seen and should be the model for this feature.

Option for comment to post in both sub and parent tasks

Like in Slack where you can reply in a thread and also share to the main channel - have the option to post comments in both the sub and parent tasks.

General locationless inbox for tasks

To be able to track anything in clickup, a nice feature would be to be able to quickly create a task with no particular location, just to jot down an idea I got. Later in the day I can go to this folder ("Inbox" for example) and set assignees, due dates and location of the task. Not being able to do this makes me not create tasks at all sometimes and lose track of something I wanted to do.
In Things (mac app), for example, I could do this with a keyboard shortcut from anywhere on the mac, and these tasks would end up in a section called "Inbox". Later in the evening I would elaborate on the description, and move them to their correct location.

Add tasks quickly in inbox
Layne Heiny
I love the inbox but getting tasks there should be more natural.
Instead of adding only reminders when in the inbox, the ability to add tasks quickly (keyboard /task) would be very helpful. Reminders can be /remind.
Otherwise, I make the reminders then convert. This is too many steps. ;)
