Pin/Hide Custom fields separated election between parent task and subtask

Since all custom fields will automatically show on all tasks & subtasks within a list, would be nice if could setup for parent task to pin/show/hide custom fields independent of subtask pin/show/hide.
Use case: parent task is task for overall project, that holds information regarding the overall project. Subtask holds monthly reviews and looks at entirely different fields than what the parent task fields are. Making the list of custom fields quite lengthy for each task. I'd like to have my subtask pin/show only the fields I need in the subtask, and same thing for the parent task.

Yes, completely agree! Either that or it just inherits those values from the parent task and they're read only. These fields are not needed at sub task level really.

I absolutely agree. We have the same use case. Possible solution: Custom fields settings can be set in a way that the field is only applicable for parent tasks OR sub tasks respectively.
