Option to set 'Billable' as the default on time logging
complete
Jon Dean
Most of our work is 'Billable' for clients, but at the moment there's no option to set this as the default.
Currently, time logging is non-billable by default and requires the extra click to set the time as billable, which is often missed.
Having the ability to toggle the default option would be very helpful.
Thanks.

Hey all! The ability to set the default state of time tracking has been added. You can do this one of two ways:
- You can set the state for the whole workspace by going to settings > clickapps > time tracking and checking the box to default new time entries to be billable (see screenshot)
- Alternatively, you can set this on a per Space basis by going to Space settings > Billable time tracking > then choose from billable, non billable, or using whatever the Workspace default is (see screenshot)

Nick Krekow thanks for the update. We really need this at the task level. Only the project manager can make the decision if a task is billable or not. Eg. A support task might be fixing a bug that is not billable. So the project manager would need to the default status at the task level. I’d love to see this extended.

Nick Krekow, I agree with what Mark said. For me this feature is not yet implemented. The workspace/space level toggle ia useless for me, as in a single space, some tasks are billable, others not.

Nick Krekow, echoing both Mark and Otto here. Back on March 21 when the workspace and space level toggles became available, ClickUp' Anthony C said "Folders, lists and tasks are coming next." Looks like that comment thread here may have been lost in the multi post mergers (unless I'm missing it). Is this still in progress?
Grateful for the start of this enhancement, but so many of us really do need deeper granularity control for billable default settings. Hopefully this isn't getting lost / require a new feedback request campaign from scratch. 😅

Nick Krekow I also want to add to the request of default state being set at list and task level. Great work so far, but until we have more granularity we have no real use case. Please provide a way to follow up on further development (considering this is marked complete, but is not yet fully implemented).

Please respond Nick Krekow.

Nick Krekow, should we open a new feature request for task-level default billability value? For new, workspace-wide and space-wide setting is not enough and useless. Thanks.

Is there an update on this??

Whilst we are here, it would be nice if Billable is selected, an optional field populates that allows you to add the amount the time costs.

Great update. Please extend this option to Folders, Lists, and Tasks soon. Any idea when that upgrade will hit?

Shoot me the Git repo info and schema and I'll code it up 😉

Billable or non billable per task or list.

Currently, you can adjust at the space level whether a space is billable or non-billable. In our case, a space contains multiple lists, which are projects. We would like to be able to set whether a list/project is billable or non-billable per list/project. The same applies to an even lower level, task level.
We also want to apply the following image to list and task levels.
So, we want to set non-billable and billable options at both the task and list levels.
