Option to remove 'closed' status

I want the option to remove 'closed' statuses. Sometimes, I have lists that I never want to close. This makes sense when we have a list of things that are routinely processed through a workflow, but when they're done, they need to go back to the resting place in the first status until they're processed again.

Closed items vanish from lists, they're not counted in dashboards and other metrics. It can be frustrating when accidentally selecting Closed instead of Complete.

Agree. Forcing the concept of everything as a "Task" that has to be completed limits ClickUp's potential to compete with alternatives such as Airtable. Removing the forced Status allows us to leverage ClickUp as a "system-of-record" for tracking information, unless ClickUp itself doesn't want us using the product as such!

I highly agree with your view, Emanuel Brito . Maybe more clear communication about the vision of the product team is necessary to better position us as users to adopt the product in more that just plain task management. I find it has great potential even to build applications on top of it to support many business processes.

The ability to delete any Status that is defaulted by Clickup, Open, Closed- This is such a basic request it's odd that it even has to be on an idea board!

We need to remove this status family because if we accidentally select some status of this type, the task disappears from my lists. Until I find out I can see closed tasks, it might be too late. I need only members or admins to be able to close a task. And that Guests with permission to comment can only use statuses "Active statuses" types.

License - Owner - Yes! We have to make sure we go and search for closed tasks to switch them to complete because the Closed option is so much more UI friendly (based on it's placement) than Complete. Our team will be confused when a task disappears and they don't remember they accidentally chose Closed.
