New task in filtered view inherits properties of that filtered view like tags.

If I am working from a subset of tasks in a filtered view that uses tags I expect that if I add a task to this view that it would inherit the tags on the page.

Hey, Everyone! We are thrilled to share that you can now seamlessly create tasks in filtered views! For more details about this, check out our help article here.
As always, please let us know what we can improve by voting and commenting on existing posts, or creating a new Feature Request when needed!

It is a weird workflow issue that you can create a Task in a Custom Field-Filtered List view, from under a Group, but then that new Task does not take on the properties of that Group or the Custom Field filters, and, thus, show in the very same List you just created it in.
It should inherit all properties of the Filters and Groups.
See attached image.

Obviously filters can only be applied if none will clash. Like if you have a filter to show any options of a certain dropdown field, it can't apply all of them.
But anywhere where the filter could be applied with no mistakes - like filtering for only one thing - it should apply there.

We want this, since we categorize our tasks with a dropdown-field. And each sub-team (category) usually manages their work inside their filtered view. (we can't split these subteams into separate lists, though if subfolders were available, we could)

I'm blown away this isn't a core feature. Anyone who has used Notion, Airtable or similar tools is going to find this a jarring experience.
So easy for tasks to get lost this way. This is reason for me to leave the platform.

This is still a huge frustration for my team. We've been waiting patiently for 2 years and still nothing. Other tools like Airtable, Notion, etc all take into account the filters in your current view and apply them to the new tasks in that view so they don't instantly vanish! Horrible UX right now.

This seems pretty standard! PLEASE :) thank you.

Hey, everyone! Thank you for following along on this post and providing your feedback!
To keep everyone informed, we've updated the status of this Canny post to reflect current product initiatives.
This request is still very much on our radar and the ClickUp team will keep this post up to date when we have more to share regarding this feature in the future!

Luci N.: This would be such a time-saver when creating tasks in a fitlered view. Is there any way this can be looked at again to be Planned?
Jake Spirek
Luci N.: Please don't bump this too far down your list. This is still a huge frustration for our team and reduces adoption of Clickup.

Hello team,
Similar and kinda annoying bug here.
We are a digital marketing agency. We have two calendar views on all lists (clients): one with the Task's "Due Date" as the date field (for the designers to know when the visual needs to be ready) and one with a Custom Field called "Posting Date" as the date field ( for the Social Media team to see when the content will be posted).
If the Social Media team creates a task in the Calendar View that's using the "Posting Date" as date field, the custom field doesn't get populated, thus the task is not visible on the view. This is VERY inconvenient, as they need to either create it in the other calendar view that uses "Due Date" and then add the Custdom Field, or adding the custom field when creating the task (which is not very intuitive).
I see other many cases where the criteria of filtering should be applied to the tasks in that view, so this is a MUST for many users.
Hope this helps.

Apply filters values to the newly created tasks
Pavel Borisov
Now when creating tasks from the board there is one annoying issue. When you create new task from the board view which has filters and don't specify all the same fields values in the task (complied with the filters) it will disappear from the board. So it would be nice to automatically populate values from the board filters to the task.
Thanks,
Pavel
