New Action: Delay/Wait Step (ex: Wait 5 hours before...)
future
Christopher Lang
Create automations that occur after a set period of time. For example, when a status is changed to xx, change the priority to high after 3 days, hours, etc.

Add "wait X time" between "trigger" and "action" in automations
Andrei Pascu
There is no good way to delay the time between the trigger and the action in automations. I can only place triggers based on due date and start date. Another useful option would be "trigger action X time before end date" or "trigger action X time before start date".

Wait before triggering an automation
Chantelle Puttagunta (CHPA)
Would be nice if we could include a "waiting period" on automations. If someone realizes they accidentally were triggering an automation, essentially giving some time to "undo". Or, if someone is making a lot of changes at once and clicking around a bunch, having certain automations that send notifications wait until they settle on a choice would reduce the notification overload.
For instance, we have an automation that sends an email to a person every time the status of the task changes. We've found that some folks like to filter through all the status options with the button circled in orange on my attachment. Our current options are:
- Continuously train users not to click this "swipe through" button, but to instead click the status itself and choose the appropriate status
- Set up multiple specific automations based on status category changing, not just status.
Both are time intensive, but option 2 makes automation management more bulky so we're going with option 1 for now. Automation options to delay the trigger and check again in 5 minutes that the automation criteria is still met would be and ideal fix.

Wait or Pause on Action

I'd really love to be able to pause the time it takes for an action to be triggered off of an automation. I use automations to email notifcations to people, but, I'm often working at odd hours and don't want the notification to go out until the morning. I'd love to be able to pause the action for a specified period of time or otherwise specify when the action happens (next day at 8am in timezone, for example).

We really miss this feature.

Is there any update on this at all? The simple 'wait x amount of time' before running automation in the November update would be incredibly useful for us.

Zach Now I think this is feasible for your team. This with time in status and scheduled at fixed time automations will be backbones of our automated system.

Yes I completely agree on this Zach on this.
This is a must to make our system being able to handle manual mistakes while still locking people with appropriate permissions suitable for their level in company.
Kindly look at this too

Please implement this feature. We are lacking it and our automation fail because of that
