Natural language date-time recognition from reminder/task title
Ajay John
Ability to type 'Submit expense report by 3pm tomorrow' and have the task automatically be set with a due date for tomorrow at 3pm.
To extend this further, maybe typing +Zeb or @Zeb could also assign the task/reminder to Zeb.
(Refer to Todoist for some ideas on this implementation.)
Added from other merged posts:
* Ability to reference other known dates like "day before due date" or "due date -1"
* Recurring task with "every Wednesday"

It seems like this feature would be fairly easy to implement, especially with the way they've already integrated AI into everything. I wonder what all it would take to just add that tech to simple task creation as well. I was a todoist and ticktick user for a while as well and it was definitely one of those features that helped speed up my workflow. Also it made the software a joy to use. I've since switched over to clickup for other reasons BUT having this would definitely make using the software an even more enjoyable experience.

jeff: Thank you for the feedback!
We are currently testing out some new AI features that would make this workflow possible. Here is a clip showing some of this in action:

Jack Dowd in the duration of that clip you have shared, you could enter three tasks in Todoist. As Jeff shares, Todoist uses natural language to very quickly enter tasks. Compare that to how many actions you took in that clip. Better to enter it once in a single action.

It's a shame that this request has been sitting here for so long and not implemented yet. This feels like table stakes for software these days.

Ability to type date and time upon task creation

Please add the (optional?) ability to type the date and time within a task name while creating the task, to quickly add a due date, time, and/or time duration to the task. This is a common feature in other apps such as Asana, Apple Calendar, TickTick, etc.
We can use slash commands to assign the "Start Date" and "Due Date", but this is much more work than just typing something like "Monday 9–10am" after the task. It allows for adding and scheduling multiple tasks in a quick and easy fashion.

also should support one like "45 minutes later"

Similar to ToDoist, example ‘Read Website Page tomorrow’

Absolutely....smart dates and recurrence. The recurrence settings are so tedious in the current format, especially if you have many to set!

Would love to have this, the current natural language recognition is annoying as it feels like it breaks on random stuff, and I have to play detective to figure out what I can do and can't. Very frustrating.
