The problem:
Today's timesheets are built around the person: you see one user's time across everything they touched. Professional services teams need the opposite view too, all time logged against one project by everyone, in one place. Our projects are a parent task with deeply nested subtasks, and multiple consultants log time at different levels. There's no native way to see that full picture on one screen.
Current workaround:
We built custom external tools to pull time entries and roll them up by project. That works, but it lives outside ClickUp, and needs upkeep.
Requested solution:
A timesheet view scoped to a project (task, List, or Folder) that:
Shows every time entry from the parent task and all nested subtasks
Groups by user, task/subtask, and date
Filters by date range, user, billable/non-billable, and time entry labels
Shows totals vs. time estimate (budget vs. actual hours)
Exports to CSV/Excel for invoicing and client hours reports
Who benefits:
PMs, ops, resourcing, sales, and finance at any services or consulting firm that bills hourly or tracks hour budgets per engagement. This is how we run weekly hour checks, client burn reports, and invoicing.
Impact:
This is our team's #1 pain point in ClickUp. Having it native would let us retire the external tools and keep all our project financials inside ClickUp.
