Hello. Are you planing to release really NATIVE macOS app on SWIFT, not the electron one?
It would be really great addon :)

We need this! Updates are a nightmare without it.

We don't have plans to build a native Mac OS app in Swift. It's an ambitious idea that I love, but it's not practical for us to invest here at the moment.
However, we have been investing in our Mac (and Windows) apps and are focused on bringing consistent 1% improvements to the desktop app. There is a lot of room for improvement, and we are far from the ceiling of what we can achieve in terms of performance & native feel.
Already some parts of the application are custom (its not just a web app wrapper!) and I wouldn't be surprised that more parts the app will be driven by native components as we continue to invest.
While I love the idea, it's not something we can actually do in the near future. Don't want to set expectations otherwise.

I think Luci N. could probably corroborate; this is a complaint I see over & over again in the forums.
People hate web apps. The End.

Reviving this request as native apps are a huge improvement to productivity. Electron clients (I am not going to call them apps) tend to have performance issues (particularly with the UI), don't look at home (custom everything, menus and all), and gobble up huge amounts of RAM due to the aggressive caching. Not having a native app also means no proper multi-window support, which means that we either have to deal with multiple full instances of ClickUp's website running at the same time (eating up even more RAM), or have everything stuck in the same window with the 'task tray', which in my opinion is not productive.

The native Desktop app dosen't really feel or look anywhere near like a native desktop app. It would be very nice if you could modify it a little to make it feel more at home in the desktop environment. There are a lot of web apps out there that looks and feel like smooth native apps. You can see one on the pictures below, and you have apps like Discord and Atom. I want to get a good feeling and excitement when I open the ClickUP app. But now I don't want to open it, because it feels so cheap. This is not good for my productivity.

Brendan W I'd be curious to hear if this was put in progress based on the new Mac desktop beta app or if there are additional plans in the works?
I would absolutely LOVE if on Mac, the desktop app had the same transparency effect that all Apple apps have (like Notes) and some newer apps built specifically for iOS have copied (like Craft Docs). The left-side menu panel could have the transparency effect. I know this is such a small thing but it would make me fall in love with ClickUp all over again and help it feel more like a natural design fit on Mac.
I included a screenshot from Craft for reference.

Steve Eastlack: I've been using a Craft Docs on macOS for a month, actually it is very cool app, same as yours I want Clickup to be like this. That's Awesome!

It's not an app at all, it's just a chrome wrapper. Like Fluid.

Actually, this is #1 priority for me, to have dedicated mac app. Electron is very slow at start and glitchy.
Will be switching to another platform if app doesn't come up in 2021.

I agree. I'd love to see Native apps for all platforms, really. The Electron one is useful, but I've noticed it's super-slow and kind of buggy when batch-updating recurring tasks.
