Joey I thought the survey kind of lacked some options.

I put "Other". Basically I have to have things open in different windows (from the desktop app because tabs aren't supported). This wasn't an option and there was no where to put this.

Question 4 (and 5 and 6 and 11): I didn't feel like any of the options covered what I'd want: Click, opens in same window, CMD+Click opens in new tab - just like a browser.

I'm not really sure whats planned here but what I'd really expect for this feature request is simple tabs in the desktop app, just like any other app or browser. This doesn't need to be any more complicated than that. Simply wrap the desktop app into a mac application that respects tabs when in full-screen and operates like the native apps - CMD+click any link or right click select "open in new tab" and it opens in a new tab. Tabs restore when the app is re-opened.

Honestly, really feels like you're over thinking this and making things more complicated than they need to be. the only issue is you can do this already in a browser but not in the desktop app which is incredibly annoying!

Thanks Ralph, good pushback. Two things:

You're right that Q2 missed the "multiple desktop windows" workaround. That's a common one and I should have listed it.

On Q4 to 6: the behavior you describe is exactly the baseline we've built. Plain click navigates in the current tab, Cmd/Ctrl+click or right-click opens a new tab, and your tabs restore when you reopen. None of that is up for debate. The survey is asking about one layer on top: when you glance at a task from Inbox or a List, should it open in a side panel so you never leave the page, or just navigate like a browser would? Internally that one splits people down the middle, so we're asking.

Agree the goal is "as simple as a browser." Your answer helps us make sure the extra bits earn their place!

I'm not exactly clear on what "when you glance at a task from Inbox or a List, should it open in a side panel so you never leave the page" but if it means what I think it does then just clicking a link should just navigate like a browser does. Not sure my survey submission said that so thanks for clarifying!

Joey I don't understand this "Imagine your Favorites moved into a Tab Group: a named folder at the front of your tab strip that expands to show each favorite as its own tab. Would that work for you?" Do you mean every time you click "Favourites", it opens every single one? Or just lists them for you to open?

Missing options for middle mouse/scroll wheel click opening in a new window. You only have ctrl+click and right-click listed as opening a new tab, but middle mouse wheel should open a new window. And right-click should have that option, too. Not just tab option.

"You open ClickUp in a second window (for example on another monitor). What should it show?" Definitely, 100% need to have separate. I would hate it to load the tabs each time, as I keep CU open doing different things, working across different areas. It would be such a pain to have the same tabs open. A sync OPTION would be cool, especially if working across devices. Like "open these tabs from this window". But NEED to be able to work with different sessions/tabs.

Joey I agree this is more complex than it needs to be.

Make it work like a browser. Left click opens in the same view, right click/ctrl+click opens a new tab, middle click/scroll click opens a new window. I.e., we still need to be able to open a new window quickly, both with a middle/scroll click and with the right-click option.

Also, "your tabs restore when you reopen". PLEASE make this an option. I close CU when I am ready and done with my tabs. I don't necessarily want them to re-open.

While you are here, could you please fix all the CU links that currently don't open in a new window/same tab consistently. Some open in the same place, some in new windows.
