Make "done" status tasks disappear

How do I use a custom Done status and still have the task go away without marking it the default "Closed"?

I need the "Done" category tasks to not be added up in the number displayed next to the the list in the sidebar.
Feels like this is more of a bug as it's not behaving as expected. If the task is done, why would it be counted in the displayed number for that list?
I work with freelancers and I have tasks that once completed are moved into the "done" section and then they are only closed once they have been invoiced for and paid for so this number is irrelevant now and there is no way to turn it off either.

I'd love the ability to have DONE statuses get tasks out of the way in views and in the navigation task counts etc.
I have a List of habits I want to track. (Recurring Daily!) And I want to have them removed from views once I record my activity for the day.
TO DO = not yet logged for today.
COMPLETE = affirmative, I did the habit today.
NOT DONE = negative, I did NOT do the habit today, but recorded it.
(I've requested custom CLOSED status here as a cleaner alternative, but hiding the tasks is the goal either way. https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/create-a-status-other-than-closed-that-also-closes-tasks)

Yes!!! Well I would like the option or maybe a toggle to make the tasks disappear similar to how you have the "Show Closed" button at the top of every list view BUTTTT with an extra option for it to be applied only to parent tasks and not any subtasks or nested subtasks.
In my use case, I set up more "Done" statuses so I can keep track of when an item maybe is "not applicable" anymore or maybe I "delegated" the task or am no longer interested in a task "ditched" it or maybe the task is "not possible" anymore.
I like how the tasks don't disappear for subtasks because I find it annoying to have to open the parent task to find out what subtasks it had... but as other users here have said... it gets quite cluttered when the parent tasks don't disappear and I do want to be able to see exactly what "Done" status the task ended up with instead of having to go into the task's description or comments to see what notes I wrote about it.

My "done" status tasks are showing up in my dashboard as if they are overdue. Seems to defeat the purpose.
I think done statuses should act more like Closed statuses in these areas.
I'm also shouldn't get notifications about tasks that are marked done on their due dates...

Please do this. I like my done tasks appearing in calendar view, but in list view, it can get cluttered. An option to hide them along with the closed tasks would be nice.

Supporting this.
Also, would be great to be able to toggle between a) only closed and b) done and closed tasks (and all related sub tasks !!) to be either shown or hidden say in list view.

I see the same request, spread around as few separate requests, could someone from support combine those threads and count our votes together?
I was just advised to filter my statuses by hand to not see those tasks, but it's kind of ridiculous... The idea of "done" statuses is - as I see around this forum - that they are done, finished... So why they do not disappear? And opening gantt is pretty awful with all those tasks popping out...
