Make a Template for Recurring Tasks

Right now a recurring task is only based off either the "First Task" or "The Last Task". There needs to be a "From Template" Why? Because if you modify the first task such add a note or change its custom field then every other future task has it. Then the task is closed and you can never find it again to fix it. A template that you can modify from any of the "current recurring tasks" would fix this.

Yes!! So frustrating that my recurring tasks don't copy the start time. I would love to have a weekly task and be able to change the time one week without affecting the time for all future events

This is something I need, a recurring task that applies a template, that way I can have the control when I need to modify the template and the subsequent tasks will be created with the latest template.

This also allows for users to change a scheduled time without affecting all tasks in the future. I like to recur tasks on a specific day and then schedule them at a time that works in that particular day. Might be 10AM Monday and 4PM Friday. Templates solve this because the recurrence can always refer back to the template. A better solution than "copy first task" in legacy recurring.

Recurring templates, YES! This is what we need.
For us this feature would entirely replace Process Street that we use as our checklist software.

You know the more I think about this the more I like how you suggest this would work. Being able to set a recurrence from a template is a brilliant idea. This would also solve my issue of who gets initially assigned to a task when it recurs (right now we recur from the most recent so we have to reset the task to the proper assignee to start in open).

I just realized that this is a need! Create a recurring task in a task list from a template with ALL of the settings available for recurring tasks. I have NO idea how you would do this but it would be SUPER cool. That way - we can maintain templates with the latest versions of all key tasks and choose to have them generated automatically in the defined task list (or lists). This setting would have to exist at the list view but I think it would be a game changer and product differentiator for many companies. Please investigate! @Zeb
