List Header display is confusing

Right now, the way that the list name is displayed is confusing. It's in a light, separate, box; making it seem 'separate' from the tasks within the list.
As far as I can tell from the video tutorials this wasn't always the case, and seems to have come about due to adding more tools for the list itself. Unfortunately, it's removed that visual indication that it's essentially a heading for the tasks beneath it.
I'm genuinely unsure how you can keep the functionality you have now, whilst eliminating this problem, but hey, that's why you guys are the awesomepants making a darn awesome product and I'm not!
Please? Pretty please? Make it easier on my staff?

We've made some improvements here guys! Feel free to add any ideas you have moving forward here.

We just released a slight tweak to the design (will be live in 20 minutes), let me know what you guys think! We also are considering coloring the background if your List has a color set.

Zeb: It's not bad! And certainly better! Maybe the title's font could be a touch larger?

Zeb: Coloring the background with list color? You read my mind! How do you do that? ;)

Zeb: Thank you so much! I agree with Keegan West that I think it would solve all the problems if the the list names were larger! At this size, I still feel like I'm having to work out where the groups are in my head. But I think it's definitely a step in the right direction!

Zeb: If we could just change the parts of the List that are able to open List Details that would be awesome. My first action if I've never seen the list before is to click on the List Title if I want the List Details to open - but that's not what happens because it goes into edit mode.
We personally use the List Details to keep things like site images, wireframes, etc. (i.e. things that are routinely actionable and not just actionable once.) So the easier to access these lists the better.

Zeb: Hello Zeb,
I think you need to colour the background.
I would suggest that you just use two colours to alternate automatically.
A third colour that can be custom set.
Maybe keep the palette that you have if you want but I'd have a palette choice for the two basic colours.
Grey/grey, blue/blue, green/green, brown/brown.
The default colour set for the space set in space settings.
I think the background needs to have colour to assist with ease of visual separation.
Remember, on one side of the world someone is creating these lists and tasks. Someone else has to look and interpret the information as fresh. The new eyes have to understand logically the connection. Colour assists with that. but too many colours are then confusing because the fresh eyes have to interpret the colours as well. Simple two tone colours is a logic pattern that needs no understanding or introduction or assimilation. So a two tone palette as standard will assist all users.
If you want a special colour for a special list then that is when your multi colour can come in.
Conclusion,
Good attempt but needs more work. Your result requires interpretation and understanding which leads to higher mental load during first view.

Zeb: Yes, at least make the list names bigger. The list title currently uses a font size of 13 pixels, while the task names use a font size of 14 pixels. List titles should be visibly bigger than task titles for it to intuitively make sense hierarchically.

Zeb: I completely agree with Rob. Visually, the tasks are heavier than the list names and that is where my eye is drawn. Additionally, since "in progress" is a colored tab and I have multiple tasks "in progress", I can't tell which task list I'm viewing if I scroll too quickly because there's no visual separation between lists.
Something as simple as a solid bar of color behind the list name that extends across the entirety of the page would help break it out for me. I originally thought this was the purpose of selecting a color for lists, but the colors only provide a small circle next to the list title, which is easy to miss.

Hello Keegan,
Thankyou for this comment.
I am having real trouble with list view.
I would like to have ALL tasks open, in progress, closed listed under the list they were created with.
Separating tasks into status is confusing to see progress.

Phil Shearer: @Zeb Perhaps it would work to divide the projects and lists by using colored sections and lines behind the tasks on the screen? Projects could alternate between greys and whites by default, or else they could be lightly colored variants of the project color. Lists within the project could be separated by a thin line. The list header and options could be positioned at the top left of each section, kind of the way it is now, but you could remove it from the box to make it look less like a task. This would let groups be visually distinct while still allowing for list options that aren't necessarily tied to the individual tasks.
Zeb
Hey Keegan! I completely agree with you, we're working on it this weekend and we'll figure something out :)

Zeb: thanks a tonne! Wow, and I didn't even need any up votes :D
