Link to.. function for whiteboard elements does not work (in the desktop app)

i am trying to link a whiteboard element to a doc. when i click on the "link to..." function nothing happens.

We looked into this issue, here's what we found. Does that match you saw?
“Copy object link” works correctly: it triggers the toast and copies the link (including the shapeID). If we paste the link directly into the canvas, it behaves as expected.
However, when pasting the link into a task or doc, we see three different behaviours depending on the format:
- Plain link → Works correctly. It opens the WB with the object selected and centred.
- Dismiss (Preview) → The preview modal is centred on the object, but once the WB opens, the object is no longer selected.
- Inline link → Opens the WB with no object selected.
