Link 2 Date Custom Fields (Date Range)
Tori Ponce
We have 2 date custom fields called "Goal Start" & "Goal Due" to keep a record of the original targets, but it would be nice if we could link those two fields to each other so they would function more like the Start/Due Date fields.
This functionality would probably enable you to more easily allow date custom fields to be used in Gantt, Timeline, & Workload views (https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/allow-custom-date-fields-to-replace-due-date-as-basis-for-gannt-timeline-and-wor).

This would make a huge difference for us in managing events, we want to leverage the due dates for when work needs to be done but still want to see dates of the actual event.

This really would be useful.
Right now in calendar view we can only choose the start and due date of the task. In our use case thats the event date. We also have the start and end date of the setup of the event that we also want to see in the calendar; now that is not possible because date custom field will only show one block on the calendar. If we want to see the setup pre event dates we cant create 10 columns for 10 days that is not practical. Having a date range in the date custom field would be very useful in that case

Create a custom date field that has a start & end to show a period of time, not just a single date. Useful for calendar views where you may want to show different portions of a task in multiple time slots on a calendar.

Date range on custom fields

Would love to be able to set date ranges in custom fields like you can for the start/due dates. That would allow us to have, for example, a due date for the material and then an "active" date range to block off when a campaign will be running etc. on the calendar. Currently, we have to use separate tasks/subtasks for the scheduled active dates to achieve this. It would also allow us to denote flexible timelines for certain fields.

View week-long events in calendar view, using custom date fields

It would be handy to have the calendar view show events that occur over a span of time, based on custom fields (for example, custom "Event Start" date field and custom "Event End" date field) - the calendar currently uses the start date and due date. In my line of work, the due date for organising the event falls weeks before the event itself starts... i.e. I have an event coming up that starts 15th Feb and ends 20th Feb. The due date for me to complete all my tasks for this is 1st Feb, so using the due date isn't feasible.
There is an option to turn off due date and use the custom fields in the calendar, but as you can see in my image below it shows an event on the 15th and an event on the 20th... not one even spanning FROM 15th TO 20th.
Thanks :)
