Limited relationships / single relation
Martin Widemann
Currently relationships are N:M related.
I would love the see a new option on relationships, that allows to limit a relationship to a single task.
Further more a could make sense to place relationship fields between regular fields, espacially, when they're limited N:1.

There are lots of these posts, with a lot being closed as Not on Roadmap, rather than merged into this task, so I would say users after this is considerably higher than the votes above. We have 100+ users so can they be added to this vote. Is this being considered?
Simply a 1:many would be what most users are looking for.
Steps needed:
Option on Relationship to choose the one side of the relationship is limited on.
This would then hide the Add Task button once a single task is added to that relationship.
Then from other side when you use lookup this would just need to add a lookup filter to hide any task that is already in a relationship.
Users could still add more via API with this update, but a UI update is very light on, and would solve for these users who are crying out for this to clean up mess.

Relationship option to limit 1 to 1

We have a scenario where a task from List A should only be allowed to be added to one Task from List B, to form a one to one relationship. This would be great to have in the options for a relationship to reduce the noise in the lookup list of available tasks.

Lock or limit relationship connections

We need the option to only allow a task to be linked to one instead of multiple relationships. We have inventory that we assign to a location. One location can have multiple units, but one unit cannot be in two places at once. We need to be able to lock that individual unit from being placed in multiple locations.

I tried putting this into layman's terms here: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/single-task-limited-relationship-custom-field
