Let ClickUp Brain access past Brain chats
Nils Naumann
Problem
Brain currently can’t retrieve another Brain conversation, even when I provide its direct link. This breaks continuity between chats and forces me to manually copy previous discussions, decisions, and instructions into each new conversation.
Requested functionality
Allow Brain to search and read my previous Brain conversations as context for the current chat.
Core capabilities
Read a linked conversation: Paste a Brain conversation URL and ask Brain to summarize it, reference its decisions, or continue the work.
Search conversation history: Find past discussions by topic, keyword, project, or date without needing the exact link.
Retrieve relevant context on request: Support prompts like “Use the requirements we discussed last week” or “Find our previous conversation about the CRM setup.”
Cite original messages: Link answers back to the specific conversation and, ideally, the relevant message so I can verify the source.
Continue across chats: Reuse requirements, reasoning, and decisions from an older conversation without manually copying them.
Example
In a new chat, I paste a previous Brain conversation link and say:
“Read this conversation and continue from where we left off. Summarize the agreed requirements first.”
Brain retrieves the conversation, summarizes the requirements with source links, and uses that context to continue.
Value
Makes Brain useful for ongoing work across multiple conversations, reduces repeated explanations, and preserves the reasoning behind decisions, not just the final outputs saved in tasks or Docs.
