Why does the Ipad app have such limited functionality?

I use the overview on my desktop with the "Discussion" card for communication and updates, this functionality is missing on the Ipad.

I am in the process of selecting a new Projectmanagement tool for our organisation, but this limiting functionality is a no-go since our PM's will use Ipads extensively.
