What: A Doc block that renders sandboxed HTML/CSS/JS, which ClickUp Brain and external agents (via the API and the ClickUp MCP server) can create and update.
Why: Agents now produce the analysis we put in Docs, but they can only write text, tables and code blocks. Anything visual (a diagram, a calculator, a small dashboard) has to be hosted elsewhere and embedded by hand. Notion shipped exactly this in July 2026 (HTML blocks, generated by Notion Agents), so our clients are starting to compare.
What we tested (Oct 2026, via the ClickUp MCP server):
  • HTML and iframe in page markdown are saved but not rendered.
  • A ``
mermaid code block is silently converted to
    ``plain.
  • A Whiteboard embedded in a Doc page is invisible to the Docs API, and there are no read/write endpoints for Whiteboards.
Asks, in priority order:
  1. Render ```mermaid code blocks in Docs (cheapest win; also covers diagrams in comments).
  2. Whiteboard read/write via the API and MCP, so an agent can add shapes, text and connectors.
  3. A sandboxed HTML block in Docs, creatable via the API and MCP.
