Currently, when saving a task as a template in ClickUp, the template does not retain or include the List where the original task was added.
In my workflow, tasks are distributed across multiple Lists based on process stages or departments. When I save a task as a template and then recreate it, I expect it to automatically be added to its original List — or at least have an option to do so. However, at the moment, the template only saves task details (title, description, subtasks, assignees, etc.) but not its List association.
Use Case:
I have a set of recurring tasks that are spread across different Lists. When I save them as templates, I want ClickUp to remember the List they belong to. This way, whenever I create a task from a template, it will automatically appear in the correct List without requiring me to manually move or reassign it each time.
Proposed Enhancement:
Add an option when saving a task template to “Include List information”.
When a new task is created from that template, it should automatically be placed in the same List (or provide an option to select whether to keep or change the List).
Why This Matters:
This would significantly streamline task creation, maintain process consistency, and eliminate manual work — especially in setups where Lists represent structured workflows or departments. It feels like a natural extension of what a “template” should capture.
