If you hover over the symbol of the description a discrete smooth pop-up could come up displaying said description without you having to click into the task.

We've recently added this feature! You can now hover over the description symbol next to a task name to see the task's description!

Nick Potok: Thanks for letting us know - I didn't see that. Especially useful in Home and web links in description - no need to open the task to click on it:-)

I believe this has been implemented! With that said, is there any way we could make the symbol optional? It has the potential to surprise folks who are sharing their screen, if the mouse lands just-off the name of the task

See task/subtask details excerpt on hovering the lines icon

When viewing, for instance, subtasks from the parent task there is a little line icon next to it if it has any details.
What I'd like to suggest is adding a tooltip with a few first lines to make it quicker to check what are the details and if they are relevant.
If the details are just one line this will save the need to open the sub task all together.

Hey Arjun Babu C! Can you please share some more details about what you'd like to see in the task? Thank you!

I would definitely like to have this. In fact I keep finding myself hovering over the description icon expecting it to happen!
On a related note, the "+" symbol for "create subtask" appears on top of the first icon, usually task description or the label icon. It can be a nuisance.
