Hide Icon from Mac menu bar
Prashan Dharmapala
I just updated to the latest version and was unpleasantly surprised find out that there's an app icon on the Mac menu bar that cannot be hidden.
While this is a valuable feature for a lot of users who requested this feature, it should be configurable so that users who don't it this on the menu bar can hide it. Now every time I have Clickup open (pretty much anytime that I'm working) I have the Clickup icon taking up valuable menu bar space.

Please let us disable this icon. Icon is pointless. This function should be easy to add in new ClickUp update. Do it.

Hello everyone,
For the record, i never leave comments or feedback and even vote on features since after years of experience, you realize that some companies dont implement what users want.
However in this case, for me to be this frustrated with not being able to remove the menu bar icon for ClickUp, but just reading through the comments of people asking and waiting for this feature for 3 years. Thats not cool at all to be honest.
The whole point of having a software app is to have it be customizable and convenient instead of using a web browser that may be limited.
The ClickUp icon in my menu bar is taking up space needed for other tools. It’s very disappointing that after three years, the team still hasn’t addressed this, despite numerous votes. Reading through frustrated ClickUp users’ comments, it’s clear how long people have been asking for this feature to be optional, yet nothing has changed.
This is a personal preference feature; the menu bar icon isn't necessary for the app to function. I never use or click it; I open the app directly to my tasks.
I'm considering uninstalling the application, because I can't keep opening and closing it every hour to free up menu bar space.
@ClickUp Dev Team, I'm genuinely confused and frustrated. You've gone to the effort of creating a feedback and roadmap system, yet it feels like you're completely ignoring what your users are actually saying. People are clearly upset and vocalizing their concerns about this. It's crucial that you start listening to your users and responding to their feedback before the dissatisfaction grows further. Otherwise, your user base will continue to dwindle and your once promising app will eventually fade into obscurity.
I understand that the menu bar icon may seem like a small issue, but it's one that affects the overall user experience. Constantly having to open and close the app just to free up space is inconvenient and disruptive to our workflow. It also takes away from the simplicity and efficiency of using ClickUp.
As a loyal user, I want ClickUp to succeed and become even better. That's why I'm taking the time to provide this feedback. I hope you take it into consideration and make changes that truly benefit your users. Thank you for reading my thoughts on this matter.

it's 3 years now. i swear i'll close our agency accounts if they don't give this option before the end of the year

This should be an option, not forced.

why is this still not fixed?

I did a web search to figure out how to remove it and found this. It's crazy to force a user to keep this in their menu bar. This is a "switch to another app" level of problem.

I am about to uninstall the app after using it for a few days because of this issue. I see the item has been ignored for 2 years now (I wouldn't even say this is in their backlog at this point). As a Head of Product at a tech company myself, this seems unwise.
And also as a beta tester for multiple apps, I cannot withstand horrible UX/UI. Generally speaking, after utilizing both Click Up and Notion, I am going to propose we move away from Click Up and migrate to Notion before we build too many documentations in Click Up. Frankly Click Up needs a complete revamp of their UI. Do they think that all users operate out of external monitors? I have a 15 inch Mac Book and I don't even know how they imagine users can be satisfied with the experience with any smaller screens.
And now that I see the user requests are completely ignored, I don't have a lot of faith that their tech team is on top of addressing user needs.

It is super disappointing to not have the option to hide the icon. Forces me to shut down clickup every time I am not actively using it on my mac just to have space on my menubar for more crucial info.
