Ist there an update here? I have been trying to implement Lindseys solution, but it doesn't really work for us, as our tasks subtasks are all created through forms & automations.

If this were implemented, it should be an OPTION not a default, as there are lots of workflows where sub-tasks should NOT inherit parent due date, (or other metadata) and lots of work flows where a parent task should NOT inherit it sub-task(s) due date, etc.

We were able to make this happen in our workspace using one additional Custom Date field and a couple of automations. This doesnt address Recurring settings though :(
Ours is called Publish Date but I don't see why you couldn't call it "Project Due Date" or "Parent Task Due Date". See below:
1) Apply to TASKS: When you manually set the [Due Date] on your Parent Task, the first automation will auto-set the custom [Project Due Date] field. You can have this column visible or not, it just needs to be included in your Space/Folder/List.
2) Apply to SUBTASKS: The second automation will be WHEN Subtask is created, THEN Change due date > Fields from Trigger > [Project Due Date]
Now, all date fields will update within a few seconds of making the changes.
Now my question is...why is this the ONLY field/data that can be inherited from the trigger task???? I'm so perplexed why subtasks can not easily inherit data from their parent. It's so basic and the Feature Request has 2,000+ upvotes.

We're also looking for something similar to this feature. Applying pre-set timelines for each subtask based off of the parent task due date would be awesome as well. Having a customized templated version of this would save me and my team so much time!

Subtask Inherits Task Due Date

Applying templates are awesome but if I have to go in and add a due date to every subtask, I spend alot of time on something that should be an easy automatic action. I get that not everyone wants this. So, please add automations for subtasks. Example. When task due date is set, apply due date to subtasks.

Dates of subtask should be inherited by by the parent task. so the earliest subtask date and latest subtask end date becomes the start and end date of the primary task. Additionally if i have added depedency and the dependent task dates change then the subsequent task dates should change automatically

Currently, I can set the due date of a subtask to a date later than the due date of the parent task. I wish it would at the very least warn me against doing this.

Please I would love this so much

I would love this feature to be available at least for reporting

this should be a selectable optional - I use a non-recurring parent task as a container for subtasks which do recur. And by parent task it may not be the top level task, just the next level up
