We just released an update that allows tracking through Harvest on the desktop app!

Workaround: Instead of using the native ClickUp app, create an application shortcut. This will open ClickUp with your browser, but in a standalone window with its own icon, so you can easily toggle between ClickUp and your browser. I have tested this in Google Chrome, and the Harvest timer works this way.
Instructions for Chrome (Windows 10):
- Settings menu > More tools > Create shortcut
- Leave "Open as window" selected and click Create
- Find the new shortcut on your desktop or Recently Added list in the Windows Start menu. Double click to open ClickUp in its own browser window
- Right click the new shortcut and pin to Start menu or Taskbar, if desired
Note: The icon for this application shortcut showed up as the letter C in a black square (on my desktop or task bar), or as the Chrome icon (in the start menu). If you want change the icon, Right Click the shortcut (on the desktop or task bar), choose Properties, then click Change Icon under the Shortcut tab. If you have installed the native ClickUp app, you can find the proper icon in the following location:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Programs\clickup-desktop\resources\app\icons
I copied the original icon, recolored it to differentiate between the browser shortcut and native ClickUp app, then chose the recolored icon for my application shortcut.
Zeb, I appreciate native apps. It's a shame the integrate can't work in that way, but thanks for making the app.

Ryan Carpenter: Wow, great idea and workaround Ryan! If you don't mind, I'm going to share this with the client success team so we can recommend people to use your solution. Thanks!

Zeb: Absolutely! One detail you might want to know about it that my custom icon worked everywhere except in the Windows Start Menu. For some reason, my shortcut in there retained a Chrome icon labeled as ClickUP. It's the same shortcut, so the icon should also be the same—and I know it works with other application shortcuts.
Icons in Start Menu tiles do sometimes have issues, but have always resolved if I delete and re-create the tile. Not this time. I noticed an article somewhere about rebuilding Windows' shortcut index to fix icon problems, but did not delve that far and I have no idea whether this would change anything.
FYI: When creating an application shortcut as I described, Chrome creates a folder in the following location, which is where I put my custom icon:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Web Applications\FOLDER_CREATED_BY_CHROME

Ryan Carpenter: Awesome, we've noted that in our docs, thanks again Ryan!

This unfortunately isn't possible because Harvest is a browser extension

Same for me. I prefer using the app so I can switch easily between Clickup and other windows, and to keep it from getting lost among my browser tabs.

Noticed this on Mac, too. (Sends me to Harvest to login, but the login is not registered back in the ClickUp app)
