I'm really surprised (and somewhat irritated, honestly) that this has been a feature request for five years with no movement. I didn't discover this functionality was missing until we had to build a Gantt project (we typically run sprints). It's a critical part of defined workflows for tasks that will run for a long period of time.

I'm really surprised that this is not build in yet. I am coming from TickTick which has great functionality and automations around Start Dates. I have outgrown TickTick and was comparing Asana and ClickUp. Asana doesn't have reliable automations for Start Date so someone advised me to go with ClickUp. I see there is a way to do it manually with a custom field, but then you don't get the benefit of the Home dashboard/cards. Disappointing.
