Hey, there! Thanks so much for your feedback on this! We're thrilled to share that there is the ability to turn off grouping by List in your 'Group By' settings!
After you click 'Group by' on your Everything, Space, or Folder List view, you can toggle on and off the 'Also group by List' option.

I second that.
In Folder view, when having multiple lists inside it, I expect to see a overview of all things. In Board view we have that (multiple status, tasks inside each status), but in List view we have separation by list, then by status.
"Group by status" actually groups by list then by status. Maybe it makes sense to change the current option name to "Group by list", then create a new "Group by status".
First image attached shows what we currently get in "Group by status", having a folder called "Folder 1" and having lists called "Project 1" and "Project 2".
