Group by single item (labels, assignee, tags, etc.)

Currently if one task was assigned to multiple assignee, this group of assignee will become an "assignee" to show with other single assignee, this is good for tasks, however this is not good to see the task load for each assignee, I would like to have a option to group by only single assignee, even some of the assignee may have the same task.

Hey All,
My name is Max, your all new views PM here at ClickUp! This feature request has caught my eye, since it would be a key unlock for better reporting measures within ClickUp.
To make sure we're building for the community, I'd like to conduct a brief survey to understand your use cases, your needs, and the impact this feature would have.
Don't miss out on an opportunity to shape the future of this feature!
(Don't worry, I made the survey short!)

I need to prevent cross-departmental task assignments while allowing all team members to assign tasks within their own teams. This feels like a simple thing and something fairly easy to build in.
My workflow - spaces for each department (team) - each department have their own lists (and team members) - all lists need to add "tech tasks" to a tech list. I want the tech team to manage their own work / task assignment. Design team shouldn't be able to assign tasks to tech team members on their original parent list in the design space.
The built in teams functionality seems a little basic currently, this would be a solid update!

Also feel this is a critical gap. We user the kanban board to prioritize tasks by person and a list view for the daily standups showing only the In-progress and next up items.
Having to do the manually sorting in two places makes me want to drop Clickup. What is more important than prioritizing?

Max Weiten in the 1st question of the survey, you forgot to add "assignee" (The question is: "What fields would you NEED to individually group by?").

Max Weiten have responded to the survey was a bit worried that the 'assignee' field wasn't an option to select but must be included in this too not just people custom fields.

Max Weiten Done :)

Max Weiten Thank you Max, and I agree this is an important feature. I also agree that Assignee was missing as this is my primary use case, followed by Labels.

Max Weiten I didn't complete the survey. Got stuck on the first question. The only real answer for me is "Assignee".

Max Weiten - please see the attached screenshot. This demonstrates why we still desperately need this feature requested 5 years ago.
We manage tasks across multiple buildings. Because one task often relates to multiple locations, we cannot use single-select Dropdowns. However, the current Label view in ClickUp forces tasks into groups based on label combinations.
This results in the messy view you can see in the screenshot. It is becoming incredibly frustrating for my team to manage our workload this way. We really need a solution that allows tasks to exist in multiple groups simultaneously.
We need a simple option, perhaps a toggle switch in the View settings, that says 'Group by Individual Labels'.
Enabling this should allow tasks to appear under every label they are assigned to. We are fully aware this means the task will be duplicated visually across the view, but that is exactly what we need. We need to be able to see a comprehensive list of all tasks for a specific building at one time, rather than having them hidden inside unique label combinations.

Yes huge issue that prevents us from using multi-select options for labels/tags!

Just run into another issue this is causing - we have a complex project that spans across teams - I have added a custom field called Team and want to show all tasks relating to each team. However, some tasks are assigned to more than one team. Rather than placing the task under each team's heading, it is creating a new group - see example in screenshot - what I wanted is for that example task to appear under the Marketing bucket and under the Sales bucket but it has created a new bucket with both Sales and Marketing included - this is really unhelpful. I urgently need this feature to go live!
Rosie Burke
Yes please! We are particularly struggling with this when reviewing our Sprints.

Any updates here Michael Van Doorn? I'm running into issues multiple times a week with the way labels, assignees, and tags are getting grouped together instead of individually.
If I've got labels 'A', 'B', and 'C' and a task has labels 'A' and 'C' then I need it to show up under 'A'
and
under 'C' not under 'A+C' this multiple grouping scenario makes it way to easy for things to get missed because you don't have one place to look for all tasks with label 'A' instead you've got to check for 'A', 'A+B', 'A+C', and 'A+B+C' which is wildly inefficient. And if you're trying to use labels or tags as reference points, you're constantly updating the filter settings to try to get only what you want instead of being able to simply use the main group by option.

Hey, Natalie Williams:
We have List view + Assignee support undergoing Code/QA review now which we'll be releasing before supporting every grouping type + view type. We expect this to be released in the coming weeks.
We're aligned with you that grouping items as their individual values is the preferred experience and is something we are looking to support for all view types + grouping types in the future.
Natalie Williams
Michael Van Doorn how far off in the future for grouping by individual tags or labels?
Rosie Burke
Michael Van Doorn - hoping you say just days away! Please see my latest example. This is really holding back our progress and leading to discussions about how perhaps we should be using Jira (which our development team uses already)...
Cindy Callens
We are also struggling with this. We use the timeline view to visualise allocation of resources within projects and R&D to certain locations. However, when one project needs multiple locations, we now have the combination showing, but the single equipment is still showing as empty/available. This doesn't help our project and resource planning at all.
Clemence Wiart
Any updates? :(
