TLDR is at the bottom
I wasn't sure what to call this but hopefully a description will make it clear.
I'd like to set a goal and then have Clickup send me a report of my current pace and the ideal pace if I want to reach that goal by the deadline set.
I'll break this down a little more below, but it would be great to see other ideas or suggestions in the comments.
Pace Metrics
Time would be the easiest and most universal metric to implement. Time estimates can be rolled up from the individual tasks and calculated against the goal deadline. Another option is assigning a time estimate to each target and then calculating that against the goal deadline.
Reports
  1. The report interval could be daily, weekly, or monthly.
  2. Reports for separate individuals or teams would also be great. They could help with more complex goals.
Benefits
  1. Creates a daily metric that can help keep people focused on the goal.
  2. Allows for prioritization if there are many concurrent goals.
  3. Allows for management of resources if a goal deadline changes.
Additional Pace Metric
Another metric would be a dedicated custom field that has analytics tracking. An example of this would be story points in the Scrum framework. Say there are many 3 point stories that need to be completed. As the tracked 3 point story data increases predictions can be made for the pace of an individual or team to complete a goal or sprint.
TLDR; It would be great if Clickup told you how much time you have to work on a task or group of tasks to complete a goal by a deadline.
