It would be great if we can zoom in or out in the gantt chart or other views! On my laptop I am not able to get an overview of my full gantt chart (same for box view). It would be great to be able to customize the zoom settings depending on the computer that you are working on. Thank you!

Hi everyone,
I'm checking on recent updates to the Gantt chart based on your feedback and usage data. Our CSAT scores indicate we're on the right track, but I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Here's what's new:
- Zoomed-out scales: More room to work with by default.
- Clearer timescale labels: Labels now reflect the primary scale (e.g., the scale showing weeks on top and days on the bottom is now called "week").
- Key info on all scales: We've added important details to each scale. For example: Week scale: Displays month and week (Sep 15–21), week number (W38), and day (Mon 16)
- Efficient use of space: Information condenses as you zoom out (Mon 16 becomes 16) to show what's most important
- User settings: The Gantt now remembers your last used zoom level within the current timescale.
- Repositioned Today indicator: Now shows the current day, regardless of which scale you're using.
- New navigation shortcuts: Place your mouse cursor over the area you want to zoom (either a timescale or task) and hold Ctrl/Cmd while scrolling your mouse to glide in and out.
What’s next? We're exploring custom combinations of scales based on your suggestions.
Future plans include, performance improvements for a much faster experience, enhanced navigation and UX, custom field support (sort, color, and eventually group), baselines, and improved filtering (filter subtasks more precisely).
Thank you for your ongoing feedback and support. It's fantastic to have such an engaged community. We're committed to developing a product that meets your needs.
Warm regards,
Juan

Juan Grandas you said that you will do grouping. When are tou going to have it ready? i remember recieving massages about this months ago but still nothing
Juan Grandas
Hi nikolas:
This is a few months out as we decided to focus efforts on performance in the Gantt and on refining our scheduling engine to set the stage for advanced scheduling features by streamlining scheduling logic across ClickApps and views.
Grouping opens up many use cases, so I’m making sure we keep pushing forward in this area.

Juan Grandas very good, for now I have noticed that the gantt export (particularly for the month view) truncate different labels (the number of weeks, year), both in png and in pdf.

Juan Grandas Hi Juan.
YEAR BROKEN IN TO MONTHS ONLY
As per my comments below, I would really like to be able to see a whole Year broken down in to Months.
Not everyone works in Quarters, and there is currently no way to see a Year broken in to Months on the screen at one time. I.e., see a whole Year, and 12 sections for Months.
You can only see a Year broken in to Months if you ALSO show Quarters (using the Quarter scale). But I don't want to see Quarters at all, because I don't use them. This makes the view overly complex.
Perhaps being able to customise the top and bottom timescales would solve this?
But, in any case, can you please add an option to see a Year scale broken in to Months only?
CTRL+MOUSE WHEEL TO ZOOM IS THE WRONG WAY AROUND
The Ctrl + Scroll wheel to zoom shortcut is set the wrong way on Windows. All my other apps are set that scroll UP zooms IN. But ClickUp is the only application that his this backwards.
You did previously confirm this to me as being set the wrong way around, but just flagging it is not fixed yet.
Guy Mannerings
Juan Grandas One thing I would really like is a view where we can see years broken down in to months instead of quarters.
Basically, taking the current "Quarter" time scale, where a year is broken in to Quarters, but break it down in to months instead.
I just wanted to visualise a year at a time with months underneath.
Not everyone uses quarters, so this is a key thing missing.
Guy Mannerings
Juan Grandas Taking this further, why not make it so we can customise what is on the top row and bottom row?
E.g., the current "Week" mode has Month on top, and Week number on bottom. But there is no way for me to make Month on top and Day on bottom.
E.g., there is no way to split Years in to Months. There is currently only the option to split Quarters in to Months.
If we could just set our own timescales, that would fit everyone.
Can we please get FULL customisation of time scales?

Ensuring the "Today" marker is indeed "Today" and not the start of a month, or week depending on what view you are on is critical. It is difficult to present a Gantt to stakeholders when the marker is not actually where you are up to in the timeline, especially like today where you are at the end of a month and in the view it still shows at the start!
Guy Mannerings
Alex Yule Yep. It always say "today" and match where you are no matter the zoom scale.

Juan Grandas - here is another idea on the forum that is ciritcal for gantt: https://feedback.clickup.com/feature-requests/p/dynamic-task-start-end-dates-based-on-all-subtasks

Hey all,
another request: is it possible to have the vertical line to indicate today? When we export in PDF the line disappears.
Thanks in advance and have a nice time

Hey all,
is it possible to reduce size of day column? With new display Gantt Chart view pdf is very difficult to read.
Also the number of week is hidden, is it possible to correct it?
Thank you

Day-grid, even for longer timescales (zoom out) would be necessary.
For me, the biggest thing is print to paper or pdf. I need a printing range from - to date and/or the definition of an area of the gantt view. Reason is the requirement of of paper work plans for construktion site on DIN-A1 or DIN-A0. And the same as PDF vor different trades without a seat or guest status.
Next is a progress view for each task. Tasks lasting over weeks will be up to date with one view.
For long time project planing I work with time windows witch contains the the real time requirement as a fraction. Would be nice to see this, will saz time requirement as it is and an additional time Window in lighter color. Have seen this somewhere else to in this comments.
Thanks!

Juan, thanks for your initiative in setting up this survey, but it is based on an flawed premise. Please see the screenshot of the original Gantt view above made by the OP. It has 3 levels of timelines. For example, in the week view above, the week is in the middle, and then there's the month above it to provide overview and the day below it to provide granularity.
Your current Gantt view has only 2 levels for timelines as reflected in the screenshot below. The week view has the week and the Month above it but skips the day altogether. Somebody in your support team tried to explain the change to me in these words "The update on the Gantt view timescales was implemented in July during Release 3.26. These changes were based on community feedback and aimed to simplify the interface and provide more detailed control." The flurry of complaints below clearly indicate that it wasn't based on any careful impact assessment or feedback from existing users, but apparently a more technically oriented change to "simplify" the interface at the cost of functionality. You need to acknowledge that this is the root cause of the issues being raised. You can't do with 2 levels of timelines what users were able to do with 3 levels.
Yet, despite all this, your survey seeks to perpetuate your current design and simply turn a blind eye by only offering 2 levels of timelines as the set options. This is a deeply flawed, at best, deceptive and at worst, manipulative approach to seeking user input, as it doesn't even offer options that existed previously and that the users in this thread are clamouring for. I would take exception to you using the results of this flawed survey to justify the development of this feature in the way that's convenient to you while continuing to frustrate existing users.
My suggestion to you is to first reinstate the previous Gantt view with 3 levels of timelines and then run a survey for any enhancements. Alternatively, at the very least you should provide additional options in your survey that reflect the previous Gantt chart view with 3 levels. The option for "other", to suggest alternatives doesn't cut it.
Your persistent attempts to take an ostrich like attitude to this issue and use the 2 level timeline as a starting point is as deeply flawed as was the change in the first place and I believe it will only continue to cause your clients more grief.

It would be great if we can add custom fields in the gantt chart. Where can I place this idea? At the moment, I am planning to implement the display in a single window of all marketing activities within the project, and so that all activities have their own separate list of departments responsible for these activities as the root directory. If it were possible to add custom fields to gantt, then I would be able to visualize for management not only the project roadmap, but also planned and actual indicators.
