Hello,
We know how critical the Gantt chart is for many of you, and we’ve heard your feedback loud and clear. We’re committed to making meaningful improvements, and your input is essential in shaping these changes.
To ensure we’re addressing the right areas, we invite you to take a short survey about zoom levels and timescale headings in the Gantt. Your feedback will directly influence the updates we’re planning.
Thank you for helping us make the Gantt chart better for everyone.

Gantt is my main client task view for every project. Love it but the following would help (some reflecting other comments here too):
- Ability to bulk select and then shorten/expand dates on tasks would be neat. Can only do per task currently.
- Ability to hover task and see rich preview of task details (similar to timeline/workload view, but ideally with more info, e.g. include task descr, include custom fields).
- Ability to move (drag/drop) subtasks whilst having gantt chart sorted (without sorting then the Gantt would look whack anyhow). Currently have to manually use the taskbar selector to move a task which is a tad painful.
- New Dashboard card for Gantt charts (high level rollup of parent tasks for Gantt charts across multiple projects). I guess I could do a space level Gantt chart but maybe there is something inventive you can do with this in a dashboard widget that is a lot cleaner....

Please add the ability to see all instances of a recurring task on the Gantt chart.

Bugra Oktay I hope that you will support gantt cards for dashboards in the future. Very helpful for showing a roadmap in the dashboards.

Rescheduling in gantt charts is now totally broken... I cant reschedule a total folder, not a list, not even select all tasks and move... this is so frustrating such a basic feature is not working at all after years of not working properly...

Joris van Opstal: this was addressed in a previous release. Do you still experience this issue?
Joris van Opstal
Bugra Oktay no its way better now!

Gantt dependencies are extremely buggy and unpredictable - if a subtask isn't expanded and "in view" the task gets left behind (ie date doesn't get updated), even if it's dependent on the parent or other task. If the subtask is expanded and in view, it (mostly) works. This is extremely frustrating and cumbersome to manage. Our team needs to be able to rely on dependencies and dates updating as expected, it's adding hours of manual labor to our projects

Maiya Holliday: is this still the case? We fixed a number of issues in Gantt over the past couple months.

Bugra Oktay it seems to be working better in general. There are still lags and some bugginess - I'll report when I see it happening.

Can you create a Gantt view for tasks in a list? We keep each project using Tasks and Subtasks. The Gantt view loads all 80 of our projects and is completely useless. We don't create a new list for each project because we like to see them in a list together. The Gantt in clickup has to be the worst of any PM tool I've ever seen. Why is it so hard?
Maiya Holliday
Daniel McCoy you can make gantt views for specific lists - add a "View" and choose gantt

Maiya Holliday thanks but we need it at the task level. We have 60-90 active projects at a time and each project is a task with many Subtasks. Gantt isn't useful for us and organizing each project as a list is extremely limiting. Gantt for a task and Subtasks would be great.

Hi there! It would be very helpful to quickly create multiple new tasks from the gantt view, similar to how quick it is to create tasks in the list view, where you press enter to save a task name and immediate begin creating a new one.

Lauren Stead: Thank you for the feedback, Lauren. We will look into making task creation easier and faster in Gantt.

Lauren Stead: it should now be much easier to do this in Gantt. What do you think?

The Clickup Gantt unfortunately is far left behind of the usefulness a gantt chart should have.
I agree with all the requests that other clickupers state and i will add one more that is really a pain and practically with no use.
In the case of a nested workflow (mine is a 188 tasks in a hierarchy mode (3 levels deep) that supports construction projects there is no way to have the expanded all tasks view.
Furthermore i cannot use custom dates that are usefull to my projects
So i have to use the api and extract everything and use another tool.
Of course this leads to serious versioning problems especially for projects like this

Custom Date Fields for Gantt Chart Bars:
I’d like the ability to assign custom date fields to Gantt chart bars, allowing them to represent a specific date range rather than defaulting to the task’s Start and End dates.
My team is an external contributor to projects, and the organization does not want to create subtasks for our portion of the work. However, visualizing our workload within ClickUp is essential. Currently, I have to export dates to an external tool, which adds unnecessary work and versioning issues.
Allowing Gantt bars to be based on custom date fields would provide flexibility for different teams to track their timelines without altering the core project structure.
Thank you for considering this enhancement!
Also, if here is a workaround anyone has figured out for this type of situation, please let me know!
