Gantt Chart "Current Month" and "Current Year" Indicator Flag

For the Gantt chart, the vertical blue line that indicates the current month or year can be misleading if the current date is near the end of that month or year. For example, the current month is June, however the Gantt Chart (image below) effectively indicates that we are at the beginning of 2022. I think it would be more clear if the "current year" and "current month" indicator were changed to a "today" indicator that actually aligns with todays date. i.e. today is day 153 out of 365 days, so the vertical blue indicator flag should be ~42% (=153/365) of the way between the year 2022 and 2023.

Marker line at start of year or month creates a misleading view with regards to where we are in comparison to planned tasks. As this view is critical for communicating with senior stakeholders and wider audience in general, I'm tempted exporting the data and using another tool altogether until this is fixed.

This is definitely an under prioritized issue with the Gantt views.
It’s easy enough to work / think around the issue when focusing on the program, but it’s incredibly confusing when working in group settings, or when having it open on a side monitor. Far too easy to loose track of how much time you have left on tasks

totally agree - This would take no time at all to fix. a work around it to do day view and zoom to fit but this is clumsy

This in an utmost important request for the users of the Gantt view! I always have to explain to people that the current date is not shown on the screen but it is somewhere here, and then I try to point it with my finger. It is missleading. Please fix this soonest!

month/year gantt charts are very misleading in their current state, and do not provide accurate info at a glance. you'd think this would be a standard inclusion.
