LATEST UPDATE AS OF MAR 2026:
This post focuses on periodic backup (preferably manually triggerable) of all Workspace data such that it can be restored from backup in case of corruption/loss of data.
We are currently exploring competitor offreings and exploring solutions, including possible third party vendors.

Hi Help ClickUp,
How can I generate a backup of the Clickup history and the different import and export options?
Is there the possibility of any additional service that you must export literally all the information that is within each task?
Since I have been testing an Excel export, I only get the basic, general information without more detail of each task such as comments, viewers, log of hours, etc...
I hope you can help me with additional information, I have been reviewing your videos and some Knowledge base that you have but I am still not complete, Could you help me with more information?
I share the image with the fields I need to generate the backup of the history of each task.

Lily Chan I think what everyone wants is a one export button that exports all data, docs created, basically everything, where if any issue happens with clickup, they have all the data still.

I want to be able to export an entire space and then import it without need for manipulating anything. Instead of csv, I suggest you use JSON or XML to retain the structure

What are the updates regarding having a full backup? I've been searching and can see multiple requests have been made about having a backup function, but don't seem to be finding any sort of resolution or timeframe from ClickUp. Surprised this is not already in place given that it appears the only actual backups right now are external, paid methods with other companies.

Hi ClickUp Team,
I’d like to request a feature that allows users to export all of their workspace data (tasks, lists, docs, attachments, dashboards, etc.) at once with a single click. Currently, exporting each type of data separately is time-consuming and makes it difficult to create a complete backup.
A unified “Export All” option would be extremely helpful for users who want to back up their entire workspace or migrate data. It would save time and provide peace of mind knowing that all information is safely stored.

Hi!
I don't understand why custom field are not exported when I use the Space / Workspace-level export. I need a complete export of my data, not just a few fields. I have no time to spend exporting every single Folder one by one; that is tedious and useless work that a computer could do for me.
