Why is this not possible? Any 2 cent spreadsheet software can do this easily... When will Clickup solve this Caroline Ginty?

This is much needed

Any type of formula that has an advanced output and ultimately results in a number is not considered as a numerical value, and as a result, simple mathematical operations like sum or average cannot be performed on it. On the other hand, also these formula's output cannot be used in any of the dashboard components. This is a major limitation in reporting, and I hope it gets resolved!!

Mostafa Shabanpour Is there any update from ClickUp on this? I still seem to be struggling with this

This completely nullifies the use of the formula field. If you can't properly format the output they are almost completely useless?
Total $ Needed / Cost Per Unit $
$200,000 / $2,000 = $1621.62
I need to be able to show that it takes 1,621 units to achieve the goal...not $

Formula field to display result as percentage

The formula field (as well as numbers field) doesn't allow to show percentage, for example.
I need to calculate a rate dividing to $ fields, and the result is a certain percentage, but it only shows something like: $0.7 and there's no way to make it show as 70%.

Formatting Options for Formula Fields
Destiny Pidgeon
My formula field is inheriting the formatting from one of the fields in the calculation.
I am trying to take a $ field that is a total value, then divide it by the $ value that would be billed hourly. The calculation should read as a number, not a $ amount.
There is currently no option to change the formatting that is in the formula field.

If we could output a Time field as time and use that in Workload View to allocate a persons availability, that would solve problems for every single power user in CU

yes essential, I was surprised I could not easily do this

Yes this would be great.

Format calculation results

I have an annoyance with a calculated custom field... I want to format the number the way I choose, not based on the cell formats that I am calculating.
